Re: Problem using cam sensor inside Honda B serie distributo

Either 1 (rising edge) or 3 (falling edge), never 2, depending on the ECU. Some use both 1 and 3 in certain situations. DTA uses 3 for the crank, and either 1 or 3 for the cam. Are you sure? That sounds completely wrong to me. The OP is using a SEN8, which is a common Ford VR sensor. When using a V...

Re: Map sensor issue

Note there are two different pinouts for the common Marelli map sensors so you probably have the wrong one.

Re: Flex fuel sensor

The output signals are identical between the two common Siemens & Continental FCS. The only difference that I know of that may effect the compatibility with DTA is the Siemens (GM) needs a stronger pull-up to 5V, typically 2.2K, whereas the Continental wont drive a load of any more than about 3K...

Re: F1 V10 engine

I think this would actually be a much bigger challenge than what has been eluded to so far, there would only be a couple or 3 ecus with the required IO and capable of the level of integration in a car like this. I've had no direct exposure to F1 from this era, but here's a just a few of the things I...

Re: Can S80 12v+ be less than 40amps?

Unless you pull the ecu 12v from after the injectors on the same wire....it will never see true injector voltage. So Moot point there The discrepancy either way is largely irrelevant though unless your wiring is terrible. Given the minimal current draw of injectors and the ecu, volt drop in the sys...

Re: Can S80 12v+ be less than 40amps?

In my opinion there's been a bit of misinformation posted in this thread so I'm going to add my 2 cents just for education... Personally I prefer to have the coils on a dedicated supply, likewise injectors and other accessories. Then the ecu on another. The ECU needs to sense true injector voltage t...

Re: E48 on Honda Blackbird 1100xx trigger wheel issues.

I have scoped the sensor directly on to the sensor so none of the wiring loom is involved, i have just stripped the wires back and connected the probes directly Ok, that scope capture is useless then. You need to do it with the sensor connected to the ECU. The ECU will have some load across the inp...

Re: E48 on Honda Blackbird 1100xx trigger wheel issues.

Am I right that in your final scope pic your Y is set for 0.5V/div? If I am reading that correct that means you have nearly 1.5V of noise which is way too much. You need to find the cause of the noise. Is this a factory loom? On some OEM wiring you will sometimes find one of the crank sensor wires i...

Re: E48 on Honda Blackbird 1100xx trigger wheel issues.

12-2 with the Gap centered around 90°BTDC is the best option for this type of engine. The "gap factor" setting that was mentioned earlier is not needed if your gap is at 90° - Gap factor or ratio adjustment is generally only needed if your gap is closer to TDC. 12-3 should work but I would...

Re: DTA HAS CEASED TRADING

Sad news indeed. I really like the DTA product. I can however sympathise with someone in Alan’s position. I used to do support for another ECU brand and found especially the lower cost ECU’s attract a lot of **** heads. Nearly always the ECU would get the blame for everything they knew nothing about...
