Re: overboost settings
or just wire your fan in to fan control like it should be? :D easy enough to swap the pins out :) Where abouts are you in the country? also what engine you running? Looking at the wiring diagram for the S40 as we speak ( http://www.dtafast.co.uk/download_files/Wiring_Diagrams/S40%20Wiring%20Diagram...

Re: overboost settings
The fan turns on when the coolant temp reaches 75c. It's a combined intercooler and engine fan. Is there any other way I can rewire it so that I can have the fan come on at that temp, and at the same time be able to enable overboost protection? I've experienced problems with vacuum hoses a few times...

Re: overboost settings
Why use the Aux3 output for fan control when there is a dedicated fan output? That's a good question. The entire system was set up by a dealer many years ago. I have no idea how it's wired. I'm a decent mechanic but not so good with the electrics unfortunately, so I just have to work with wha...

Re: overboost settings
I tried enabling boost control, but I just got an error message saying something like "can not enable because aux3 fan is enabled" AUX3 is my cooling fan and is needed to cool the engine and intercooler. I tried typing in a value in the "overboost" setting, but I don't know if th...

overboost settings
Another n00b question to the gurus in here. As I didn't set up my ecu myself, I'm constantly digging into the software to try and learn as much as possible. I noticed that my I can set an overboost limit, but it's in the boost control menu with the valve settings. And it seems it can only be enabled...

Re: DTA S40-pro idle control using ignition?
thx @ignitionautosport Now my idle control is also working.. learned a lot past weekend :) Only have still the problem that the car is stalling after hitting the throttle, but maybe this is the design of the engine with a lower rpm on idle... My throttle body is in front of the supercharger.. I'm n...

Re: DTA S40-pro idle control using ignition?
Good to hear! What ignition timing does it sit around, when cold and once warm? Sounds like the throttle might be open more than needed, which can make a drastic jump in ignition timing if it's sitting quite retarded then advances to main map when you touch the throttle - which can feel sensitive j...

Re: DTA S40-pro idle control using ignition?
Thanks a lot! I got this working now. :D I can't believe how well it actually works! Thanks for sharing your settings. I used them as a template to get mine going, and then adjusted it to better suit my engine. It now idles at 1200 when cold, and drops to 950 rpm when fully warmed up. It's like driv...

Re: DTA S40-pro idle control using ignition?
I'm just waiting for a cable that will allow me to flash the unit so that I can try out the ignition controlled idle. The version I have now aparantly won't let me use ignition based idle, so I have no idle control at all. Just mechanical (adjusting throtle cable and or the screw. But as i said, tha...

Re: DTA S40-pro idle control using ignition?
Thanks guys! I think it's about 7 years old? I'm not exactly sure. I have it set so that when the engine is hot the idle is usually between 1000-1300 rpm. But this cause it to be way too low when it's cold, it would struggle at 4-500 rpm when cold. To try and solve this I installed a solenoid I had ...
