S80Pro and boost by gear success

Postby Nige » Sun Nov 15, 2020 2:15 pm

Thought this may be useful for someone ?

I run Boost-By-Gear with my S80 Pro. I also have 2 steering wheel mounted buttons, one it a latching button that makes/breaks the 12V to the boost solenoid, that in effect give me actuator pressure if it's really wet or BBG when enabled and the ECU is on MAP1.
The other button is a push-to-make and switches to MAP2 which is my instant high boost overtaking map, regardless of gear.

The dyno plots show the effectiveness of BBG

Very neat! How did you go about choosing the different levels of boost for each gear?

Initially I just set each gear to give a few % more duty cycle which gave this boost plot as I went through the gears. Green is MAP

The final tweaking was done on the dyno, but it was minimal.
