Take off the turbine housing and inspect the turbine wheel......that often tends to die too.

Ouch!
And I thought my damage (only one dropped exhaust valve with valve head nicely embedded at 90 degrees in the seat) was bad......

the good news - at least you have the whole winter to rebuild.

Outside of both wheels look fine, but it will be stripped to check the internals.
There's too much debris not to.

Was the brakes locking up purely down to the cold tyres? What sort of pressures were you using with the A15's?

Good to hear the suspension mods are on the right track and produced noticable improvements.

Steve
Sorry Steve, missed this last time.

Locking up almost certainly due to cold, harder compound tyres.
A15s were run at 24 cold, which might be a bit too hard. Car is 1100 kg.

Alex,
24 sounds in the window for the Avon radials; The higher pressure will help with tyre roll-off as the radials do have quite thin / soft sidewalls.

Just read this from the start. What a journey, that engine failure looks about as bad as it gets, but good on you for sticking at it. I hope you can get up and running again soon and have some fun with it.
What are the plans

New engine is ready, just needs to be dressed and dropped in. Booked in for the end of the month.
