Hi thought I would like to show everyone my project. I've spent the last 10 years creating something a little special.
The car was a 1992 esprit turbo. A 4 cylinder carb engine with the Renault transaxle that was fitted by lotus.
About 10 years ago the exhaust manifold started blowing all the bolts on it were totally corroded ( quite normal on one of these) . To replace the manifold it requires removing engine and gearbox.
So engine and box were removed to replace the cracked manifold and while engine was out planned to replace clutch timing belt water pump and all the rubber hoses.
But here's where the job went slightly off track. Searching the internet I stumbled across an engine for sale. A tad bigger than orginal.
10 years later and with the help of of dta s80 and A and B garage in Hawarden she has taken her first breath
lotus esprit supercharged v8 4.6

Tell me that's not still on the UN1 transaxle?
Re: lotus esprit supercharged v8 4.6
It's not a lotus engine. It's a Ford v8 32 valve quadcam.
Un1 got sold a long time ago. Porche 6 speed boxster s transaxle.
When engine is in car it's virtual impossible to work on. So for into base settings and first 3 hours I made a nice cheap wooden frame. We were expecting to be chasing the thing round the workshop but it was steady as a rock

If it is any help I could send you a copy of our map, we have a Ford 4.6 32 valve quad cam in an AC Ace Brooklands.
I Know there could be a lot of differences with sensors and wiring but some of the figures may be of use.
We had 321bhp and about 350ftlb, and more importantly we get around 26 - 28mpg whilst driving on normal roads.
Give me a shout if you want a copy.
