Hi everyone,
I have a Peugeot 205 with a Honda K20 engine (from DC5) ruuning a S60 Pro ECU.
I currently run the car in the UK series of Time Attack in Classis and Retro class.
For next year I am looking to turbocharge the car and have a few questions, not sure this is the right place, but will try:
1. Can you run different boost pressures by using a switch to change the map? If so, how many settings can you have?
2. Does it need an air temp sensor, currently not using one
3. Should it run a knock sensor, again currently not using one
Any help is greatly appreciated
Andy

Re: Peugeot 205 with Honda K20
There are 2 maps available, the 2nd map is aimed at anti lag.
You can have infinitely variable boost on a rotary knob, so long as the engine can make the boost!
An air temp is essential on a turbo!
You should add a wideband lambda, oil temp and pressure if you don't have them, if only for logging and trouble shooting, perhaps an EGT also.
DTA can't use a knock sensor directly, it can with external electronics. But my recommendation would be to get it mapped properly, then there will be little need.

Just to add to what Rob's said, you can use the second map as a fixed map that's different to the standard, including boost, ignition and fuel.

Aye. Add a map sensor and it's all good

Re: Peugeot 205 with Honda K20
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the information.
I will add an air sensor, I use the X dash, so already have oil temperature and pressure readings.
The car will be mapped by Steve Grenald, so I have little concern it will be mapped correctly.
The car already uses a MAP sensor, there is no airflow meter, although I may change the MAP sensor to a 4 bar version.
Thanks
Andy

1. 2 settings....unless you're a little devious. I'm sure I recall someone managing more ?spikster_1 wrote:Hi everyone,

And/or you can also run different boost levels per gear or vs road speed which may be useful in a fwd car ? You'd have 2 ranges of these options via the ecu.
BUT....with an external boost controller you could run as many boost levels as the controller allowed. You do not need a specific map for each boost level, you just need to ensure the engine is tuned for all boost levels you intend to run.
2. Ideally yes.
3. No direct option, so no real point. Just ensure it's mapped correctly.
