Hi

My 1st post here.

Using the 3.6 litre 350hp engine to power my new Sports Car. Looks like a DTA to provide ignition.

Anyone got any experience with these big two strokes.

No, but why not use dta for injection also?
Does the engine have some sort of crank sensor already?
Is it an even fire engine, i.e fires every 45 degrees?

How are you going to keep is quiet !

You best go for the S100 to cover all bases, this gives you the gearbox controller also.

I think its out of a boat and probably has some sort of nasty log exhaust manifold holding the power back, that's where the rating probably comes from.

Answering Questions; The engine is an Evinrude 300XP from 1987 which I have reported. It fires every 45 degrees. I am using a CVT transmission with the primary fitted to the crankshaft repacing the normal CDI ignition flywheel/magnets. I have fitted a 36-1 trigger wheel to the perifery of the CVT pulley. The CVT will be tuned to keep engine running in the 5500 to 6500RPM range where ignition is stable at 16 degree BTDC. Initially I am using a noise attenuation system I have built but planning to fit twin turbo's when everything running correctly. Turbo have a BIG noise reduction capability. Whilst the "Nasty Log Exhaust" is fitted , its actually a cleverly designed common expansion chamber with internal diverging cones to create the required back pressure/gas flow.

Can you imagine what it'd sound like with 8 tuned length, hydro formed spannies exiting the bodywork - Ah the two smoke crackle!
