Hi Jon
The gearshift is fantastic! Its all pneumatic, fed from a paintball gun air bottle. It has a double acting cylinder to shift the box up and down. A second single acting cylinder to blib the throttle on down shifts. I bought Geartronics GCU to control it all. You only use the clutch to start and stop the car. The Geartronics uses a pot on the gearbox so its closed loop and virtually foolproof! It outputs to the DTA for flatshifts up the box.
It took a while to get used to it. One of the greatest advantages, other than no missed gears and being able to upshift in corners, is you can leave braking much later!

I was going to say! I saw that air canister with the push connects but didn't quite get it. How many shifts do you get out of the paintball tank? That also explains the fitting on the throttle linkage - makes sense now.
Is it a special transmission? I would assume its a sequential right? Man I really want that haha

Re: Westfield Type-R Supercharged!
The air bottle is 0.8 litre, air goes in at 232 Bar and comes out at 7. Its probably a bit big for my application, I think you could do a 10 lap race on it!
The gearbox is the G60 from Quaife. Yes its a six speed sequential.

That is so cool. I'd love to go with a sequential transmission (even with a mechanical linkage) but the quaife are all rated too low in torque capacity for my application.

I am thinking about a sequential box for my BMW once it's running, would prefer a Tractive box, what a piece of engineering!

The Quaife is more affordable! Not sure the G60 could handle Jon's power though!

Very, very nice project indeed

hi ****.
I have a DTA controlled bike engine car and have been looking at a downshift blipper. I use currently a very similiar set for the shifting but trying to figure out what pnematic shifter to use for the downshift. Can you please show a picture of it our maybe a part number?
Thanks

DTA's DBW controller has a downshift blip function.
