Hi Drew, I have run a ZS180 for the last 10 years and 130,000 miles.

Just interested to know more about yours, is it de-cat exhaust system? What did you do with the intake plenum valves or have you changed throttle body and intake system? What bhp do you get now? How do you go on for the Mot Test?

Just interested to know what stage you are at, I think they are a damned good engine.

yes I have a janspeed manifolds, which I modded a few months back, it used to have a 2.1/4" collector but I changed to a 2.5".
i did that because i made myself a 2.5" decat and will eventually move to a 2.5" piper exhaust.
at the moment i have a janspeed system on there which is 2.1/4".

i don't think ill need it for this engine, but i have another im building in the garage for it.

i have the std inlet on there atm, but i am building a new upper manifold to use 2 sets of triumph 675 throttle bodies.

something like that, ive got a lot further with it since then.

the vis just sit at whatever i left them at, which im hoping was fully open. i don't believe im getting as good a mid range as having vis but ive not been bothered to find someway of adapting them to work with the dta (for anyone following they are 4 wire stepper motors for 2 sets of valves in the inlet manifold.)

ive not tested it lately so don't know the bhp, im expecting just over 200 but not a lot.

i replace the main cat for the mot. had to play with the settings a few times to get it through but did get there in the end.

so next engine will have some bigger bore forged pistons..

forged rods

and a longer stroke. that should give me 2782cc instead of the std 2497cc.

still a lot to do, and pay for! but its getting there.

also i did used to have one of the sprintex superchargers on it.

i changed the piggyback for the S80 a few months back. much better.

i have piper 285 cams in there atm, they had to be retarded from pipers timings so im not sure there really giving me what im after, hopefully with the new engine i can get the correct timings to gain the most from them.

Thanks for all that info Drew.

How did you find it with the charger on, was it nice useable power?
