S60 on a vvti 3sge Toyota

Post by swsupermoto »

As above using a s60 to run a 3sge rev4 Toyota. It's vvti on the inlet only. Just got the car started but cuts out after about a second. Check on the data logging and it shows the injectors are firing plug the coils are firing but cuts out. Anyone have an idea

Is sequential injection switched on? If so, turn it off.
Sounds like it's trying to run sequential injection, but the settings aren't correct.

After working with a couple of Toyota triggers, I've worked out that the trigger angle and the cam angle will be different - no idea why (as there's no missing tooth) but that's how it works with them. I've run 1UZ and 4EFTE triggers. From memory I set the sequential switch point reasonably high and blipped the throttle to push rpm up and observed wher the timing shot off to. Once it got close I could adjust in a more normal manner. I used the Honda type trigger setting from memory.

I've got it to run but need to set up the cam timing. Put the live chart up showing rpm tps and cam t and cam a and the cam t and a don't show in the 0 to 90 degree range. On the settings it's set at -313 will study the manual now but what's the best why to set the base cam settings.
