Lotus 912 ignition map

Post by TonyP »

I've attached the ignition map for my Lotus Excel SE. It is a standard Lotus 912 high compression engine and I'm still using carbs. The idle jets were increased from 55 to 58 to remove a bit of 'fluffing' at around 2500 - 3000 RPM, otherwise everything else was left as standard.
I'm using a throttle sesnor.
I got a toothed wheel and crank sensor bracket from LotusBits, who have a lot of experience of DTA with Lotus 900 series engine.
The results from going from a distributor to mapped ignition with the DAT S40 is great. Lots of torque at low RPM, a very steady idle, and much more willing to rev.
Highly recommended.
