Post by Andy-reid »

Hi has anyone got a startable / runnable map for a VW 2.0 ABF 16v running Jenvey D.T.H bodies 440cc injectors / s60 pro /Seat works cams / head work / h/c pistons the car will not be driven but i need to run it and pull it out of workshop and onto trailer also i need to run it for a while to bed bits in and do some mods i.e wire the coil over plugs and wire in the cam sensor i have mounted in the cam cover over the inlet cam so cylinder 4 lobe works as the trigger currently no front on the car as i am re mounting a new double core ally rad offset to allow more cool air feed to bodies

alex Hypothetically the map that is on the ecu if i reduce the numbers in the fueling as the injectors are aprox 4x bigger so reduce by similar number it should run!

now it seems the cam sensor wants a regulated 12v supply but only puts out a 5v signal
i have it looking on the inlet cam lobe cylinder 4
this is the scope pattern i am getting but isnt saying cam signal
it shows a double tooth gap at 11 &41? after the 2nd 58?

no point trying to do sequential or anything like it until you have a stable cam signal.

Not understanding why signal isnt stable as millington use cam lobe for signal may need try getting sensor bit closer

Well according to that trace...there is no signal.

So you're not even at the stage of an unstable signal.

I presume you can work a multimeter...this video gives a crude option of testing whether there is an output at the sensor. Although diagnostic display might also yield some info as you turn the engine by hand for a simple functionality test.

it does have a cam signal? need to run another check with it running see if pattern disapears? i hadnt turned on flywheel trigger function 26!
now it cuts out when it reaches its switchover point to sequencial
