Has anyone worked with a Ford Triton V10? I have a friend who needs help to develop a map for one he has is a custom car, and it would be great to have a place to start.

Thanks.

I hadn't even heard of one - had to google it LOL! Seems to be used as a truck / RV engine, mainly in the US, so finding a developed map in Europe will be unlikely. Doesn't sound like much of a performance lump - heavy iron block with inherent design flaw in cylinder head with spark plug retention! You / your friend may have to do some custom map building as well - other engines that may yield some info would be; Viper V10, Audi V10 or BMW V10's although the latter two are certainly more sophisticated as regard engine electronics / control.

What ecu is he using ?

Shouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to get something to start the engine to get it running ?

Man I remember the Triton V10 being an option in the Excursion and thinking how cool... but then the diesels were available too and I thought how cooler, lol.

What crank/cam trigger does it use ?

Really once that is setup, the rest should be fairly simple.

The Triton has two crank triggers, early is a 40 - 1 or 2, not sure which.
Later is standard 36-1, so can't be used on an S Series, as V10 must have number of teeth divided by 10.
Early can be used though.

I don't think there are any cam sensors.
