Idle Valve maps (BOSCH)

Post by FrankCorrado »

These are my maps for a popular OEM BOSCH ISV (if you need the part # let me know).
I have adjusted the internal plate to be totally shut when ISV is not in use, not 30% opened like it is by default.

Nice work!

For the benefit of others, the valve you are using is a Bosch 0280 140 512, which is a notoriously tricky valve to control, which in part is due to it's massive flow!

Also worth noting this valve may need a 1N4004 diode across Signal and +12V on the S80. Mine certainly needed the diode otherwise it didn't respond at all.

Max duty = 80%
Min duty = 30%

Do you need enrichment compensations to go with this map? My engine hunts and runs lean with these settings...???

Yes. More air = more fuel needed to avoid a stall. You can enrich the base map or use the enrichment table in the ISV parameters page.

^above - only if you are TPS as load with no pressure compensations whatsoever. otherwise leave the table empty for obvious reasons

I was TPS with MAP compensation and it needed some enrichment as the valve opened. MAP as load I can understand comps not being required, but c'est la vie, some motors do 'ave em!
