Can you get L shaped lambda sensors to overcome this problem?
That's not so good sensors should at worst be horizontal - better between 10 and 2 o'clock. Positioned as is its life would be shortened due to water / condensation fouling. And no to L shaped sensors!

Just weld a boss in a more sensible location, although you can get L shaped weld on adaptors I believe ( or make something )

I can get a new boss welded in OK - it's the clearance I'll need to check. I can't put it further forward as the downpipes meet just next to the current location; how much room do you need to allow for a sensor? About 5cm?

Is this the sort of thing you want ?

They probably affect response a little..but if needs must.

Could be - as you say sensitivity will probably be affected which isn't ideal for closed loop. I still need to get under the car and check.

Thanks, Richard

I reckon its response will be horrible - probably equal to putting the sensor up the tail pipe! If you bored out that weenie little hole it may be slightly better though!
