Is the V6 Alfa an even fire engine even? If not you will not be able to use wasted spark so S80 would be the only option.

I think the point being made is 'that with only two ign. outputs there is no chance of running any sort of wasted spark' so uses one output and single coil to plugs via dizzy. Very old skool and inefficient with potential timing scatter from slop in the dizzy mechanicals!
