Data cable

Post by Shedman »

Can I leave the serial/data cable permanently connected while driving the car? The best place for the ECU to be mounted means I have to unfasten it to get to the serial socket.

Thanks

As long as it's somewhere dry you'll be fine. Mine's plugged in all the time.

I too have one in mine permenantly plugged in, including the USB-serial interface and the USB extension lead cable tied in there too so I can always plug in the laptop and not have to worry that I might have left the serial adapter at home! It's very convenient!
