There are jumpers inside the ECU that need moving around. Here is a diagram:

Thanks for the info guys! Makes it more clear.
This is the first time, that i am busy with dta, so changing the jumpers is a bit scary for me haha, bit i find it interesting i will definitely look into it. What i have done is the following: Ordered a crank sensor from a 101bhp(engine code AEK) 1.6 8v engine(part number 021 907 319 B). This was a inductive sensor and its a straight fit for the abf. First i ordered a sensor from a 1.8 20vt, but this one doesn't fit.

hello good night, I will allow ABF advice on motor and sensor on crankshaft.

vw OEM sensor for some reason does not work practically never.
  I installed on many occasions the sensor of a Citroen Saxo 8 or 16v year 1996-2000 built cable.
  fits perfectly and work the first time, you only need to put some type of silicone to prevent leakage of oil inside the engine.

1.8T crank sensors are magnetic (VR) and cam sensors are Hall.
