However, if you are getting the extra pulses when cranking, you risk the engine synching on the exhaust stroke, instead of the firing stroke. You need to clean up the trace at cranking speeds.

Ok thanks, makes sense. I can set sequential only above 1000rpm to rule that out I guess.

But I think the sequential aspect only applies to injection.

If you're COP...will the ecu revert to twin spark until crank/cam are sync'd ?

It ran ok before under 2000 rpm with cop selected , cut out as it tried to switch to sequential.

Is there a way you can play the log back in the tuning software so you can see a trace over the fuel table as it plays ? Like you can with MS.

Engine seems to be running fine now. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Lesson learned : Ensure good battery connection and voltage

Ensure split bank throttle linkages are set exactly to open in sync.

Use VR sensor for crank wheel

You can have it leave a trace as you rev...which will remain on screen until you clear it. But not an actual playback.

The little squares to select functions below the main text descriptions at the top of the page.

the two rightmost squares, Mapping trails.

I think there's a keyboard function to turn them off/on too.

Ok thanks Steve.

I found a way to view the fuel tables in megalog viewer. You can use a tune file from another car and just make the fuel or ignition maps have the same values in the rows and columns. That way you can see the cell highlighted as the log plays.

Quick update on this. All was running well but had 2 random cutouts, no spark even while running coil test. It turned out to be a dry solder joint on the loom spade connector where it joined the fuse box. Its running beautifully now. Passed MOT for the first time since 2007!

Cool..I do like those old Porsches.

They even fit LS engines to some of the newer ones...and apparently they're lighter than the OEM water cooled versions !! No idea about the air cooled though
