S60 pro digital dash options

Post by Mx5turbo »

Hello everyone. This is my first post so bare with me. I am hoping to purchase an s60 pro ecu but I want to know what limits the use of a digital dash. Can other brands be used successfully and if so what specifications do they need?

Others work. SX-Dash/X-Dash are the only plug and play option.

The dash must have a CAN or serial connection. The DTA CAN stream has more data though. Stack/AIM/Racetech are all compatible, but I'm not sure if any of them have added the recent changes to the CAN stream yet.

Might be easier if you mentioned what dash you were thinking of ?

Well I haven't really been thinking. I've done some research on the dash2 and it seems to be done but it sounds like a ball ache

A ballache on what respect ?

Others have made it work ok via their CAN adaptor.

Although I did have one for a while...never did get it to work and RT were no help, I ended up selling it all.

Plus as a screen, I just hate plain bland LCD, nothing about the design makes info easy to see at a glance.

I'm a fan of these http://www.aim-sportline.com/ or Motec stuff. Depends what you want it for, usually you'd double duty as logger.

The coloured AIM stuff does look very good, although pricey.

I've a Plex SDM500 as a secondary display, very easy to view, but still pricey.

Dash as a logger is all good and well...except without it's own sensors etc, it is reliant totally on the info supplied via the datastream from the ecu, which often is not as comprehensive as what the ecu can log itself ( not all cases of course )
