hi
i'm just getting an s60/stc polo 20v going, and trying to get the stc idle speed controlled. my old ibiza with development stc from allan, has just always worked! so i've never needed to touch an stc until now.
the base pwm seemed to be the place to adjust it... idle revs are over 2000rpm.. not ideal - haha
tried adjusting the negative pwm figures to -50% and not one difference.
confused now. not hard i know
any suggestions?
(the emerald k6+ i used a few weeks ago was so so simple in comparison.. few taps of the keys dropped the opening angle vs temp for cold start.. Nice.)
stc user - new setup, idle setting how?

You don't need to update the STC for idle. The STC still uses the idle settings from the ECU, ignoring the irrelevant ones like valve frequency.
Just set the idle target speeds for temperature, and off you go.

Re: stc user - new setup, idle setting how?
the "fix" was RTFM - lol
the missing bit was I had'nt powered down the throttle and took note of the reported pedal 1,2 & throttle 1,2 readings nor put them into the basic settings in the STC.
Now done and readjusted by base pwm settings back to original again, and its idling around the target I've got set in the S60.
2 x laptops at same time to set throttle.. lol
There has to be a nicer way to configure these going forward.
its alive and running

LOL, so often the case. Glad you're sorted.
Two units = 2 com ports. If you have two USB converters you only need one PC with two USB ports, you just need to adjust the com port settings in one of the programs. Set them to different ports once, and you just need to plug them in to the correct USB port each time, the PC will remember which is which.
The next series of ECUs will have an option of a built in DBW controller.

getting com ports to work at the best of times is a pia.. let alone encouring my win10 machines to share.. Netbooks are great for battery but dire for more than one actual USA com port.
