X-Dash alert strip

Post by seaniebda »

Hi All,

I'm having difficulty getting the alert strip working on my dash.

I lowered the maximum water temperature and let the car tick over till it was over the maximum set temperature. The figures in the dash went red but the strip never appeared.

Alert val. = RPM
Value S. = 2000.00
Delay (ms) = 500
Tempo = 5
Level = 1
Colour = Red
Sign = 1
Nb. Fig. = 3
Precision = 0

Is there some other setting I should be doing?

Thanks in advance

I replied to Sean via email, copying here for general availability:

The Alert Val and Value S are overrides. This prevents the warning strip from appearing if the values are below these.
This can be used to turn off oil pressure warnings at idle for example.

This means that the warning strip won’t appear until the RPM is over 2000, and the delay time has elapsed.
If you want to test it, change the Value S column to any value less than your idle RPM.

Delay is the amount of time in milliseconds the error condition has to occur before the the strip appears, and Tempo is the amount of time in seconds after the error conditions ceases that the bar will be displayed.

Only the values with a Level greater than 0 are displayed, and the higher the number the higher the priority.
