It's early days for me yet with the system, did you go for a left or right handed paddle, I just put the paddle on the left side as it's the same hand that I would use for the gear lever.

Hi Phil, be good to see some pictures of your set up too. Mine will be for a mk2 escort as well.
Hi Paul,

I just moved my paddle back to with 2 inches of the wheel, it feels much better to use, when you get it that close you realise how bent the steering wheel actually is, the rim to paddle distance changes by about 1/2 inch through the full circumference of the wheel. I need to stop holding the wheel as I climb over the roll cage to get in. I will send you some pics when I am next in the garage.

Thanks Phil,

I also have to avoid the indicator stalks as well, but I have an idea in my head. The movement of the steering wheel was not something I had thought of though.

Hi Paul,
I moved the indicator stalks forward and above steering column so they out of the way, there are as close to the instrument cluster as I can get them, after all you only need them when you are driving on the road.

Been speaking to Paul Corbin and I'm at the stage I need to start sorting the paddle shift I have found this kit for a compressor and tank, I would like to have it mounted in the boot out of the way if possible but have the solenoid blocks on the gearbox tunnel would this system be ok ?

Cor - it drags some amps don't it! Always best to have soli's as close to ram for response times.

That's how I have mine, solenoids are just above the back end of the gearbox at the top of the tunnel with short pipes feeding the actuator and the compressor, receiver and regulator are in a box recessed into the boot floor.

We were talking about this tonight and a mate was saying that if the tank is in the boot it would make it laggy ?

If the solenoids were in the boot I'd expect it to be laggy, tank not so much as long as the supply lines were sufficiently sized.

Agreed - pressure line from tank to soli will always be at tank pressure so ready to release hi pressure burst. If the solis were at the tank, the line to the ram is at atmos pressure that needs filling and pressurising before the ram will move hence lag.
