I have an engine currently stripped so I can see when cyl 1 is at tdc. The crank sensor mounts in the bell housing so it's a bit more difficult to work out the angle from there.

For crank sensor, just use the crankshaft oscilloscope to get a starting point. Then use a timing light to confirm it's correct.

For the cam sensor, you will need to use flywheel mode 26, and pick a tooth for the ECU to use.
When you do the crank scope above, make sure you only have the inlet cam sensor connected, and I'll walk you through it.
Once you've done that, the ECU will tell you the angle.

I don't have an exhaust cam sensor Alex, I have 2 cam sensors one per bank only fitted to the intake cams

He said to use the inlet cam, not exhaust.

Exhaust cam sensor would not be needed unless you have a variable setup on the exhaust.

I didn't word that very well really sorry.

I understand that I need to be using the inlet cam sensor but I have 2 sensors one per bank, so is it just use one sensor or use both?

You'll need to connect them one at a time, so we can check the patterns on both.
