2 cam sensors

Post by VR6Turbo »

Balls.... I've just realised the S80 can only run 1 cam sensor at a time.

Does the M3 engine not run 2 cam sensors? Just wondering as there's a few M3 maps included in the software.

How do you adjust 2 cams independantly of eachother with only 1 reference sensor? The ECU has outputs for 2 cam variators so I must be missing something?

Page 4 of the S80 wiring diagram shows "Cam 2" inputs.

So it does! Thanks.

I read this and assumed it wasn't possible....

"2 inputs are provided for each of these
sensors to accommodate differing types.
Only one of each must be used at any one
time"

Page 4 shows the 2nd cam sensor grounding to pin 33 which is the general sensor gnd. Page 2 has the sensors grounding to pin 21. What's the difference between these 2 grounds?

No difference - they are internally linked and just split for convenience.
