All sparks firing when turning on ecu

Post by maxiice »

This has been going on since day one.

Most of the time when hot there is som fuel that ignites, could be in the exhaust ot inntake, and yes it has scared a few people too. Not good.

Is it suppose to be like this? otherwice its running fine

Bit more info please, I'm guising that you are using amplified coils. There are tricks you can use like supplying the +12v to the coils via a relay. or triggering from rising/falling edge. Alex should be able to help.

Yes, it's normal on amplified coils. If it's an issue, wire the 12v coil power via the fuel pump relay.

Also, why do any aux outputs pulse when power is turned on?

I wouldn't mind but when I run nitrous I have to disarm and arm the system every time I turn the key otherwise it (aux 3) gives the engine a small shot of gas followed by a nice backfire.

I also have this problem, with amplified coils.
Thinking of testing Alex suggestion, but i don't understand the difference.
The fuelpump relay is turned on (3 sek) at the same time you power up the ECU, and give the coils power supply.

Can you explain how this fuel pump relay wiring can disable the spark firing when i power up the ECU?

Thanks..

I missed this. I'm not sure what's happening there, I'll need to investigate.

The event that causes the coils to fire happens as the ECU powers up.

By the time the fuel pump relay turns on to prime the pump, the ECU has control of all the outputs, so the coils aren't turned on/off, meaning this event can't happen if the coils are powered using the fuel pump relay.
