Of course it won't! To run wasted, the stated cylinder count has to be divisible by two.
No it doesn't!

Effectively you run the engine as a two stroke firing all five coils in the first revolution of the engine so no cam sensor is needed (coil outputs need to be rearranged though).

Why? The coil is just firing twice per cycle, 180 deg apart - the timing is either correct or it isn't - if the tooth gap angle is wrong then timing will still be wrong, just twice as often LOL!
Just because an engine runs...doesnt mean it is running correctly.

And firing angles etc have not been stated here, who knows where that 3rd cylinder is firing in this instance.
