Rejected cam pulses

Post by Borla »

Could someone explain what the rejected cam pulse count is please on the diagnostic display? Is it cam pulses that are registered but then fall outside of the operating window set by the cam tooth noise mask? I have read the manual but this is not covered. Many thanks.

I would think that is any cam trigger that falls outside of what is deemed to be correct.

If there are teeth in the ignore window set by the mask, I'm sure these would not be included in that ?

Rejected cam pulses are only those cam pulses that fall outside of the cam masking window. These are cam pulses the ECU sees, but knows to ignore because of the cam masking window.

Cam Sensor errors are errors that occur which the ECU deems to be incorrect. These are cam sensor pulses seen by the ECU that don't meet the map criteria, which can cause running issues.
