Hi all,
I have a USB-CAN adapter from my previous ECU (MBE 9A*). I was wondering if I can use it to reflash my DTA S100 without any risk. I would like to keep the serial plug for my interface with my RT Dash2.
Other point, is it possible the read the CAN output with an OBD reader. I would appreciate to read at least RPM for MOT testing.
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
Regards,
Jeremy

Re: CAN adapter
Pretty sure you must use the correct serial cable and port to reflash.
And pretty sure there is no OBD compatibility at all.

Re: CAN adapter
To flash the firmware, you have to use the serial port.
If you just want to update the map, you can try that CAN converter. I rarely use them, so don't know if that one will work.
OBD output won't be available, as the CAN data is different to OBD.
If you just want RPM for an MOT, use the Android app (www.dtadroid.com)
