Cant get Car to start on DTA s40

Post by roosie »

I have just 16v my saxo which im using the DTA that was on it before.

I have tried to start it on the old 8v and a new 16v base map but cant even get a sniff of starting.

I have:

Compression as it come out of a car straight into this.
Spark is fine as checked and all sparking, also the order is correct
Fuel pressure in rail is 4bar as required

The injectors just don`t seem to be firing i cant seem to smell anything down the Itbs when starting.

now when i test injectors when fuel pump is not on via the DTA program they all make the 4 tone clicking noise.

im a but stumped.

any simple tests?

So has this car ever ran as it is now ?

Explain your 6v reading...testing where and how exactly ?

if your claim of spark is fine is correct...then that would imply the ecu is alive and well and so is the crank trigger.
And would also imply the ecu should be trying to fire the injectors.

But nowhere testing the injector wiring should there be 6v....so it could be a wiring problem with the loom/car, or a testing problem.

You should have a 12v ignition based supply...and the other wire from the injector goes to the ecu.

took it from the feed to the injector loom . it's a 2 pin plug . the looms and ecu have always been on car and been running the physical engine has been changed . I'm going to check the wiring later like said it's only 2 wires one should be wires to ecu the other is to 12v

Update:
Ok i have checked the 2 wires, one goes to a fused 12v no problems
and the other goes to the inj1 pin on the ecu, no breakages or shorts.

so i put a LED light over the 2 and when i turn it over , not a flicker.
BUT
if i test injector function on the mapping screen its flickers with the speed like it should so the ecu can give signal ok just not on this map.

Crank is fine i done a oscillascope capture and it said i should choose 0 in engine settings which it is.
it must be a simple setting in the ecu that causes it not to fire on startup.

So you've changed the engine, and this new engine has never ran correctly ?

Post a pic of the scope trace.
