T12 5v info and tacho signal

HI, Newbie question here.
I'm wiring up a T12 to a car with air operated gearshift. Given the documentation for the ECU, the throttle bliper is wired into PWM 5 instead of the tacho. As such, where can I get a tacho signal from?
Second question, I plan on using Pin 9 (Connector 2) for my 5v sensors, but why does it have a 5v supply on pin 34? What is this for?
Many thanks.
