As i can read the wiring diagram for s80 there is only hall sensors you can have as speed sensor ? I have only magnetic sensors fitted on the wheels

Only Hall effect will work. You'll need to change them.

Or run converters. Like this maybe http://www.jbperf.com/dual_VR/v2_1.html

Re: Magnetic wheel speed sensor
Ok thanks for all replies for now i will keep my abs vr sensors so a relay or modulator is a good solution, so i can still keep my abs unit working
Re: Magnetic wheel speed sensor
Hi,
I bought 2 VR to hall [LM1815.4024] converters from VEMS (link above), and I have trouble with them...
I want to use them with my DTA S60 ECU for front driven wheelspeed and rear undriven wheelspeed. I use standard automotive ABS sensor (1 sensor from BMW car (ref sensor: 34 52 6 771 702) for front wheel, 1 other sensor (ref BOSCH: 0261210) for rear wheel)
I plug the one for front wheel, using the VR to HALL converter, but the ECU doesn't see any speed.
I check that the supply voltage is OK (pin 1/pin 2 = 5V), and the pining which I think OK
But I have some doubts about wiring and config, and maybe some of you could help me:
-I connect the pin of the divider reset to the ground pin as I read it in the document: is it OK?
-On the front wheel, there are 48 teeth, so I plug the output of the signal to the pin "divided by 4". Maybe I misunderstood, but I think the converter should send a signal corresponding to equivalent 48/4 = 12teeth?
-I let the sensing hysteris to the standard (230mV): do you think I should adjust, maybe to the lower one?
Thanks in advance
Yohan

Re: Magnetic wheel speed sensor
And are you getting any sort of a signal from the unit ? A multimeter should tell you something.
