Your tacho may be stepper motor driven so DTA won't be able to drive it?

You'd really need to know what sort of signal the OEM clocks used and where it came from.

It could be really awkward and be transmitted via a datastream or CAN or something from the original ecu.

What are wiring diagrams suggesting ?

I have found out the data is transfered via CAN, can it be done???Thanks for your response

I've heard of devices called CAN bridges that can "interpret" one devices data stream and translate it for another.

Clearly that will involve a lot of work, but I'm sure it could be done. Way over my head though !

If you did the ecu as a piggyback install and left the OEM ecu in place, if you retained the OEM style of crank trigger then you could leave it in place simply to provide rpm data for the rev counter.

Are other gauges not also CAN then ? temperature, speed etc ?

Likewise, I've seen the website but can't for the life of me think of the name.. some googling would no doubt find it though.

It's only the clocks I'm using...nothing else.

Clocks? rpm, speed, temp, fuel etc. sounds like you need help. There is a specific CAN output for the Lotus Elise so it can be done.
