DTA S40 fuel pressure input: A possible alternative?

I have a customer intending to use an S40 with an X Dash and he wants to use gear input (ana3), oil pressure and fuel pressure, plus water, oil and air temps.

Normally you need an S60 since the fuel pressure and gear input use the same pin on S40 but I was thinking it might be possible to use MAP input for the fuel pressure.

ie, select any sensor from the MAP sensor table and edit the voltages and pressure accordingly to match whatever pressure sensor you're using for fuel, ie VDO 5 bar. (Using a 180 ohm pullup resistor) and take the table values from the fuel pressure sensor table.

then delete any MAP compensation values for fuel and advance, ie all set to zero.

then change the text on the X dash to say "Fuel pressure" instead of "manifold pressure".

Do you think this will work?

If you can change the name on the display, l dont see why it wouldnt work.

I fully expected your input on this!

yes, you can make a lot of changes in the X dash software to display whatever you want wherever you want, (once you've got you're head around the software!) so I cant see that being a problem.
