Crank & cam sensor Buell 1125

Post by blownharley »

Hi, I'm about to get my Buell started up but not sure that I got everything right? I'm using the standard Bosch magnetic sensor on the crank and added an extra sensor of the same type on the front exhaust cam. See crank oscilloscope picture below if it looks to be OK?

Thanks Peter

Crank signal looks fine, but cam doesn't, you are getting multiple hits.

The cam signal isn't right, you can't use that at the moment.

Start it in grouped mode, get it running, then take a scope with it running to see if it's any better.

Wasted spark and grouped injection.

Although you can ignore that, it's completely irrelevant to you, as you have a single cylinder engine.

Just make sure sequential injection is off, and one coil per plug is off.

Why have you installed a cam sensor?

A google suggests the 1125 is a V twin ?

And given how many hits....are you sure it is a cam sensor that wire is connected to ? Any pics or details ?

Is this same engine ?

Yes, it is a 72 degree v-twin engine with odd fire.

That's what happens when I post on a Sunday afternoon.

So the cam sensor is for the odd fire pattern.

What is the cam sensor picking up off? Have you used proper shielded cable for it?
