Gear by ShaftRPM not working as intended

Post by cooberpedy »

Happy New Year to all!
The new one starts with a problem, i have discovered.
I'd like to use the "Gear by ShaftRPM" feature.
Having set all ratios and parameters but the feature doesn't behave the way as far as i think it should.
The engine RPM and the shaft RPM are drivenby my stimulous generator so that i can adjust them independently.
The current ratio, which is calculated by the S100 is also correct.
But as a result, the associated gear isn't set!
1st. issue: If the current ratio is higher than the on for gear 1 it should dispaly GEAR 1. If the ratio is above 35.xx it displays GEAR 6 :( .
2nd. issue: If the current ratio is lower than the ratio entered for gear 1 it should switch to GEAR 2. But this does happen at far lower ratios than the one entered. (e.g. gear 1 -> 13.xx and transition from GEAR 1 to Gear 2 at 10.xx) :( ??
I have attached two screenshots.
Any ideas what causes the weired beavior? :?:

Mine works fine off with the sensor on a front drive shaft.

What happens when you set the current ratio to the numbers in your table.

Surely 11.392 is correct to be in first gear because it's a bigger gap to second gear.

I can reproduce this behaviour.

1. I'm not sure why that happens. I don't think it should, but I'll check the code when I have a chance next week.

2. This is correct. The midpoint between the two ratios is about 10.4, so 11.3 would still be gear 1.
