Contactless Gear Potentiometer

Post by tryolz »

Hi all,
simple question is it an issue if I have a contactless gear potentiometer which has a voltage dropping from 4.5 v on reverse to around 0,5V on 6th gear ?
I will use delay only for cut (Open Loop).
the potentiometer is only for gear dependant cut times.
if it is not an issue I will only have to write the correct values in sensor scaling am i wrong ?
Thanking you all for your help ?

I think the voltages all need to be all up or down and in sequence. Have to ask why would not want to use closed loop?

The voltages must go up for 1 to 6.
You will need to rotate the pot until the voltages do this.

Can you reverse the wiring on the pot so voltages increase ?

if not, get a more suitable pot. It would be very odd for voltages to decrease as gears increase, that is not the norm.

hi Alex, stevie and rob,
thanks for the quick reply but unfortunately on the contactless Potentiometer we can't exchange the +5V and ground wires to reverse the signal.
it may be interesting to add it in future developpments.

If i activate the option switch for start pot to finish will i be able to tick the box reverse pot voltage ?

yes, just select reverse voltage, no need for development. yes pot to finish works like this

Hi
Good news I have contacted SADEV de gearbox Manufacturer and their contactless potentiometers are 4 wires and the fourth one (not connected by default on the 3 pin connector) is the one with the reverse signal.
So I think everything will be Ok after rewiring the connector.
thanks again for all your help !!!!!!!

there's no need to change the connector, just select reverse voltage!
