Resistors

Post by Boardpaul »

Hi guys,

Wired in the oil pressure and head temperature senders this weekend. I didn't have any resistors.
They both appear to be working correctly, do I need the resistors? What's the issue with not running them?

Thanks

Without knowing what you used, how you wired it etc etc....gona be pretty hard to say if resistors are needed or not.

Which sensors did you use?

Hi guys,
I took a feed off the existing VDO oil pressure sensor.
The head temp was fitted from an old cv performance efi I had in prior.
This is the one I'm more concerned about. I need to verify its readings. I've currently set it as a speedshop version.

The VDO sensor uses a 560Ohm pull up resistor. It will read incorrectly otherwise.

To the best of my knowledge, the Speedshop head sensor doesn't need any pullup.
This is fairly easy to test, check it's reading accurately at room temperature, and then stick it in some hot and cold water, or in the fridge and near a heater with a thermometer. That will show if the readings are reasonably accurate.
