Crank sensor errors gsxr1000 motorcycle s60 pro

Post by gsxr2mil »

For some reason my bike keeps killing crankshaft magnetic position sensores which causes the bike to run funny and cut off all the time, is anyone experiencing anything like this. I have the correct shielded 22 guage wire and all i was told to use and still now luck at all. When i go back on my datalog the crank error numbers constantly change and when they do the bike runs extremely crazy or shuts off.

assume it's connected the right way round and it's not somehow loose in the engine. I have a 'bussa and the stock sensor has been bomb proof so would assume the Gsxr 1000 is much the same? Is the trigger hitting it perhaps?
From your description I conclude that it runs fine for a while, then fails so you put a new sensor in, runs fine for a while then fails etc? Is that what you are saying?

Yes it is thats why i dont understand it, i even measured the air gap between sensor and pickup wheel teeth to make sure this is like the 10th sensor since ive got this standalone a year and a half ago. Im so not understanding whats going on & its getting very aggravating, eas at the track the other day in the water box and the sensor just shut off whill doing a burn out

honestly sounds more like a wiring issue. if you put the old sensor back in it will probably be ok again? changing 10 sensors is mad

I would think not, and unless it had a lot of teeth, would offer very poor resolution, especially for a high rpm bike engine.
