Dta s60 launch control

What does the "control loop frequency 1-50 hertz control with the 2 step. Does that control how fast the 2 step goes?

Isn't that the monitoring frequency of the launch control - ie the number of times per second the wheel speed sensors are being checked - 10 would seem a reasonable number for counting 'normal'wheel speed toothed wheels?

Control Loop \frequency is how quickly you want the PID loop to evaluate the wheel slip.
Too quickly and the momentum of the drive train will still be in effect, too slow and the the last applied change will be accentuated.

The control loop frequency is only used when not using the random cut patterns, i.e. when using ignition retard.

On launch control setting what actual does the target slip % do?

When not using the cut patterns the target slip is the wheel spin you are looking for, something like 20%. This is in the traction phase of the launch once your engine speed starts to get close to the road speed, the start line rpm is used before this point. The system will use the pid loop algorithm using ignition retard to target the rpm it needs to maintain the 20% slip. If retard can't hold the engine back the soft cut then the hard cut is used to contain rpm.
This assumes you have a wheel speed sensor and your front wheel is on the ground, assuming you have a bike?

I recommend the use of cut patterns myself but the target slip is still required to be set but the system doesn't 'target' a slip but just applies the cut patterns say 200rpm above the target. Think of it more of a servo control, there is no pid loop.

On a bike the launch timer control would appear ideal, when connected to the clutch switch. Most of the launch settings would become unnecessary and no wheel speed sensor.

Would be too slow and require multiple starts to finesse the timer - then when it rains everything goes out the window!.
The way most of the v. fast bikes (Superstreet Drag bikes) are configured is to use rate of acceleration algorithms comparing engine speed to rear wheel speed and G loads - all very clever and adaptive - don't ask me to explain it though!
