TPS issue.

Hi.

I've been running a rover K-series tps for a few years on ITB's with no issue but this morning I have updated this to a penny and Giles contactless sensor. I temporary pinned the new sensor in to check function and all ok and then swapped the loom plug and fitted. All sampled up ok and no issues seen. Full range of travel and no errors with ignition on, however when I fired up the engine, the sensor now sporadically goes into error. This doesn't look like its seeing some noise and falling out of the acceptable range as even with throttle applied ~constant 5-10% the sensor still shows errors.

I'm feeling like this must be a sensor issue or are these sensors a lot more prone to electrical noise?

Thanks.

We no longer sell P&G for this reason.
We have a reliable contactless sensor in stock if you're interested, same price as the P&G.

Oh balls. How does this issue transpire? Sensors quality low and dta particularly sensitive?

P&G were bought out a coupe of years ago.
Since then, we've found the quality has just plummeted. We've even had a couple fall apart on fitting. There are random errors like this, others just wont' read.
Nothing to do with DTA.

Ok thanks. Who do you use for your contact less now? Which connector does it use? I guess its £109+vat then as per p and g sensors on the website?

Variohm.
It's a direct replacement for the P&G, so same connector.
Yup, £109 + VAT.
