Launch control traction control

Post by roadrally_nova »

Bit of a newbie question im afraid

1 do i need 2 driven wheel speed sensors or will 1 suffice

2 on the traction control diagnostics im seeing 2 different speed needles a red and a white, i presume these are for front and rear
at the moment one is showing say 30 kph and the other is double roughly and showing an actual slip of 600% , im sure ive done something incorrect just not sure what
front and rear wheels are same diameter, with rear pulses at 4 and front at 12

thanks in advance

What ECU do you have?
Up to s60 only one undriven sensor allowed. However traction can be achieved with gear position knowledge, for this ECU you have to fill in the distance per rev in your launch gear it uses this to calculate wheel speed from revs, on s60 this can be extended to traction in each gear but get launch right first.
For s80 up launch is the same but adds 4 wheel speeds, you can use just one undriven wheel but I recommend 2.
