Re: Unknown crank sensor error
I think it tells you cam angle in the diagnostic screen.

Yeh as stevi says, but yo need to figure out where in the cycle that is for cly1 ECU cant tell you that. Also read the book as special consideration for your 6 point cam trigger.

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
If you are proper sequential COP, then if it's wrong it should not run.

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
You can't use that cam trigger pattern, as there is no gap to tell the ECU which cycle you're on.
If you want to use it, you will have to physically remove one of the teeth.
The coils firing are because you are using amplified coils. Wire the coil power via the fuel pump relay to stop this happening.

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
moved the trigger for the ignition relay circuit to be triggered off the fuel pump relay trigger and still get a pop back through the intake , any other thoughts ?
thanks dave

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
Not the trigger, the 12v supply
Re: Unknown crank sensor error
So I have change the way way I am picking up the cam input and it seems to be more stable with only one pulse per rotation. attached is the crank diag .
what is the best way to determine the cam sensor position in Degrees ?
What should I set the flywheel mode to 26 - 34 ?
Alex and Steve thanks for your help, it is great to know that after 10-12 years of having my s80 it is still one of the best choices I made on the car it has been rock solid through out all the changes I have made through the years and the support has been top notch.
Alex I will rewire the ignition circuit to run of the same relay as the primary fuel pump with 12 coils at 5-8 amp per I am a little concerned the pumps are 18 amp draw with a startup draw up to 40 amps but are on separate 70amp relays.

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
Use flywheel mode 0.
The Diagnostic Display shows the cam angle in the cam sensor section.
Turn on sequential injection, start the engine, and make sure sequential injection has activated ( there is a Y below the angles).
The correct cam sensor angle is shown above this.
You can use multiple relays if required, the signal can be spliced out.

Re: Unknown crank sensor error
Ok i have the car starting and running in full sequential but i am getting tons of cam errors on cranking (400- 650) once it starts i dont get any at all .it does take about 10 sec after the engine syncs for it to fire up and i have to feather the throttle . Once it starts it runs perfect
What could cause all the cam errors ? And does it matter if it does not generate them after startup?
