S40 data logging

Post by DTA406 »

hi, anyone can give me some info about what is best to buy since I have to replace my E48.

I am opting to buy the s40 but I am concerned sine it dose not has data logging.

My question is. Can I fine tune my car off the dyno without the use of data logging??

Thanks.
Adrian.

You can tune without datalogging, no problem. But then it is good to have a dynobox. You can tune also with laptop only.

Actually there are many different tuning strategies with DTA:
Adjusting mixture/advance with dyno box pots
Adjusting mixture by marking lean or rich spots with dynobox or from keyboard
Adjusting mixture by log
Adjusting mixture by closed loop lambda ( which I don't recommend, closed loop is tricky)

if you want a datalog option, take a look at the s-dash of marco from this forum.
His log option works great on a S40. I'm also using his dash
