Big throttle body how much resolution can i use?

Post by miler »

My throttle body is pretty big 100mm.
Its running good at zero throttle and at 2%.
But it leans out in the middle of them
I use 0 2 4 % collums. How close can i set the collums ?

Any other trick to get around this problem ?

1% is the min. but how about adding manifold pressure compensation as the corrections should be a straight line, and therefore just about automatic

I'm always keen to see what it is when people say things like that...

Is it lean between no matter how slow you open it, or hold static? eg: it's not a throttle pump settings issue?

Yes its lean in static and in slow movement.
Engine cbb 396 with big cam.
Plan is to build a 500+cui so i went big.

I would change the columns, 0, 1, 2, 4, etc. Obviously you'll lose one up higher but I think thats a bearable trade-off.

If you have stuff all vacuum change overall it may not be worth adding MAP correction. Something to consider though.

I'd think you could easily afford to use a few load sites down low for that, as after 50% or so the tuning changes needed would probably be much smaller and you could have them spaced much wider without it causing you any problems.

Didnt clear that problem even with 1% but its getting better.
Just ordered me a new map sensor 1bar so i get better resulotion
But 80kpa at idle it will be Hard useing mappress anyway :)
Way better at low rpm compared to the old carburator :)

Now to a new question

While mapping (i dont have the knobs)
If i use the arrows to compensate fuel lets say im up 10%
How do i generate that change to the cell ?
And is there a way to reset the compensation?

Just return or F4 does the update, im sure its in the instructions!
But just make your self a knob box, you won't regret it.

What to you mean reset the compensation?
Just go to - Essential Map Settings/Manifold Pressure Compensations/Manifold/Baro pressure Compensations
Or do you mean the live adjustment compensation? if so you can't, if you have the knobs you can turn them on and off.
As you don't have the knobs box you are better off just changing the cell directly, then press F4 and it updates, it sounds like this is the problem not the tps resolution?
