Crank osilliscope

Hi , I've been doing the crank osilliscope on my st 170 but every time the crank position sensor deg varieties from 71 - 83 every time it comes up different is this Wright..?

Yes, that's normal. The software estimates as best it can, but it's limited by the crank teeth.
Always confirm with a timing light when running.

LOL - bit bloody tricky with the 'teeth' in the back side of the flywheel! I know general advise is remove all plugs bar #1 but if just tracking the trigger tooth / teeth would removing ALL the plugs so that the engine cranked faster, be of assistance?

I've mentioned before...

But why couldnt there be a self learn feature ? ie crank over with only cyl1 plug in...and the ecu should be able to pretty accurately give the user a TDC reference vs any missing teeth etc ?

Or self learning crank trigger patterns in general ?

No ecu's do it...but it sounds like it should be fairly easy.
