Anti-lag System

Post by C.W.S. »

Hi! I have a EVO lX controlled by S60 and I try to install the ALS, I use a switch in the dash to activate the 2Map, in the 2Map I set a timing of -35 degrees and 10 ms of fuel, when I drive the car under desaceleración the main map switch to the 2Map and the engine go to 10s in the wide band, beside that I don't see any other change.
I make an air intake leak to test and nothing change.
Can somebody give an idea of what I am doing wrong ?

I think the fuel map should be much the same ?
Do you have the air valve fitted, won't work without that unless you use the jack the throttle or use the fly by wire throttle.
I've never used the anti lag so have no experience!

Using a full map is an odd way to achieve ALS...not sure how successful it actually is.

How much of an air bypass do you actually have ? As Rob says, air is vital.

10ms of fuel, off throttle, is an awful lot of fuel, possibly too much. But it really is a case of trial and error until you get the sort of ALS operation you're looking for, but keeping an eye on EGT's so you dont cook anything in doing so. As when you get it reasonably aggressive, EGT's can rise very quickly.

35deg of actual retard, is a reasonable figure though and should be able to get something going.

I will try different air-fuel ratio.

eh, no, that's not the issue.
Please confirm if you have some way of adding more air. The engine needs to think it's running normally, the ignition retard is needed to prevent it actually making any power, otherwise the car will push on when you close the throttle.

Are you using an air valve, or opening the throttle on Map 2?

As Rob says, totally irrelevant. AFR's during any decent amount of ALS probably wont make much sense anyway.

I don't add any valve yet. I just try open the throttle.

How are you opening the throttle? With a solenoid, DBW?
How much are you opening the throttle?
