Twin Spark Offset ?
Does anyone know why you would want the sparks to fire offset in a twin spark motor ?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Twin Spark Offset ?
Can help light load and idle, and more ideally for rotary engine setups with leading and trailing spark plugs

As above, the offset is aimed at rotary engines. Not piston engines.

Same principles on a piston engine too, if you happen to have one with 2 spark plugs per cylinder - like a motorbike engine being most likely to come across.

But do any of the above actually fire their sparks at different times ? And is there any benefit from doing so ?

Re: Twin Spark Offset ?
Oh ya I guess I should have said I have my DTA on a 2 liter Twin Spark Alfa motor. The motor is a 1986 and the Car is a 1969 spider.
I rebuilt the motor last winter and got 171.6 hp at the rear wheels That should be 200hp + at the flywheel . The motor made about 150 hp stock .
I was just wondering if I could get any free hp by using the twin spark offset.
Did I just say free and hp in the same sentence

Re: Twin Spark Offset ?
Please note: By the term "Twin spark" DTA means "wasted spark" not twin spark plugs like in an Alfa.
