wow... 9 pages of absolute garbage.
did a lad's 1.6 vauxhall lump over the easter weekend. came to me with pulse widths over 10ms on part throttle (i know).
basic twiddling for about quarter of an hour was done to get the fuelling within 20% or so (trust me - a marked improvement haha)
obvious, mathematically sound PID values were chosen based on the engine characteristics and CL was switched on.
within about 3 miles of 20mph driving around a housing estate the fuel map is now accurate to a target lambda with a maximum deviation of around 0.5%
the only people who slate closed loop are the ones who are too dense to do the maths.

What PID maths did you use on this occasion? I know you've done some good work in that area in the past!

I would like to say a huge thanks on behalf of myself and the Mrs to 86sixsix.
This guy truly knows his stuff and is in the process of turning our car into something else.
Car is now miles better and it still isn't finished with a huge reduction in fuel in the cruise idle that the original mapper I paid good money bodged to make it idle and start on a cold morning.
Also just to confirm people who don't like closed loop on DTA or think it doesn't work... It works a treat you just have to know what your doing and what magic numbers to pick .

I don't get it. That method never hits the target for me for some reason. Slower, bigger adjustments seems to be the only way86sixsix wrote:same as i always have for years. very fast, very small.

Is the object of that simulator to get the OP stable by getting the green and yellow lines to match each other? P-80, I-10 seems OK. Adding any D what so ever completely borks the loop!
