USB converter, or direct to serial.

If USB, post a screenshot of the USB driver settings

Hi Alex,

Am ok with serial interfaces, do that in my day job.
I tried refreshing the prolific usb driver with the one from your website. The serial interface has stopped working totally. When I researched the prolific chip, although the correct type, is of an older version and isn’t supported in Windows 10 correctly.
Am on vacation from tomorrow, will order a new one to try when I return
Thanks for help, will post outcome when i return

Hi Alex,

Promised to post once solved. The issue was the usb to serial converter. The prolific 2303 chip based converters have numerous revisions. The older versions aren’t fully windows 10 compatible. Mine worked with the standard dta interface, but not flashing firmware.

I bought a new prolific 2303 version, Windows 10 compatible, worked like a charm. Upgraded both my ecus.

Thanks alex

This forum should have a LIKE button as for years now people always think the ECU is faulty when it is usually the tools being used, you live and learn.
